Institutional Advancement

The Institutional Advancement Committee, co-chairs Peter K. Brooks and Lyn Higashi, are responsible for supporting the efforts of the Institutional Advancment office in promoting the school in our communities and beyond through public and media relations, our web site and community involvement. This committee is also responsible for fund-raising events like Party in a Pear Tree and and for spearheading the Annual Appeal.

The Party in a Pear Tree is held annually on the first Friday in December. Chartwell School would like to thank last year's co- chairs, Pam Sheppard and Carla Zilliox, along with the dozens of other incredibly generous and creative volunteers who made the 2007 Pear an outstanding success. We welcome volunteers, event underwriters and auction items for next year. These all help raise funds so that our students can succeed. Please contact Bobbie Wolcott at the at 831-394-3468, extension 1023.

Funds raised at our special events, along with donations to the Annual Appeal and at other times, are used to offset the school’s operating expenses. Tuition and fees do not cover the full cost of educating each student. These funds bridge the gap between revenue and the actual cost of operating the school and they also help fund our financial aid program.

Without the many volunteers who are so generous with their time and talent, Chartwell's Advancement efforts would not be nearly as successful nor as much fun. We are thankful for all of you and want to let you know how much you are appreciated!
